I’m Alright, Jack

‘Lord Ashcroft has allegedly got the Tories to promise £100 million to build an airstrip on St Helena, the island 1,200 miles from the African coast which has only 4,000 people.  So, at a time when other departments are cutting 25-40% from budgets we can waste all that money on a small village where we once held Napoleon Bonaparte.’

What I find most appalling is not the fact that Lord Ashcroft and his fellow Tories are doing this – that’s to be expected -  but the fact that they appear to be getting away with it with very little  dissent.
